Sue Tucker - artisan textile hand-weaver in West Oxfordshire
I design and weave a range of bespoke textiles on handlooms from my home studio in Ramsden and at Cogges Manor Farm in Witney, as Artist in Residence there. This includes items made with the wool from local sheep some rare-breeds, reflecting the lovely Cotswold countryside in which I live. Using a traditional spinning wheel, wool is turned into yarn then woven into highly individual rugs, wallhangings and furnishing fabrics or left in skeins, sometimes dyed. Other hand-woven items such as scarves and accessories are in my range. I rarely repeat a design. Commissions welcome. My ‘Introduction to Yarnmaking, Spinning and Weaving’ workshops take place in the Manor House at Cogges Manor Farm. Examples of my work can be seen in the visitor centre. Customers can feel they are keeping alive one of our oldest traditional Cotswold crafts. I look forward to answering any of your questions.
This half day workshop costs £45.00 per person.
